Posto Bhaja ( ପୋସ୍ଟୋ ଭଜା ) is another bhaja that can be made when you make Janhi Aloo Posto, since you would've already prepped the posto for the curry. Janhi Aloo Posto and this bhaja will certainly make you sleepy, so perfect before your Sunday afternoon siesta.
Posto if added in excess can make a dish bitter too so these bhajas are made thin. Posto I would say is an acquired taste, not everyone likes it. As a kid I never liked posto bhaja but now I do.

INGREDIENTS
Ingredients | Quantity |

Poppy Seeds | 4 Tablespoons |
Chopped Onions | 1 Medium |
Chopped Green Chillies | 1 - 2 |
Garlic | 1 - 2 cloves |
Ginger | 1 small piece |
Salt | To Taste |
Amchoor Powder | 1 teaspoon |
Oil | 3 Tablespoon |
PREP
- Soak the poppy seeds in warm water for an hour
- Grind the poppy seeds, green chillies, garlic and ginger to make a smooth paste.
PROCEDURE
- In a bowl, mix in the chopped onions, salt and the smooth mixture.
- Take a flat pan and add oil
- Take a shallow pan and splash some oil onto it, you can always less oil to make it a tad more healthy
- When the pan is hot, place small blobs of the mixture and flatten them out a bit like in the picture below
- Toast each side until they're golden brown and cook on medium heat
- When both sides look golden brown, take it off the heat and serve hot with rice and daal
SERVING SUGGESTIONS
This bhaja goes really well with pakhala bhata :) and ofcourse rice and daal.
